2024 – A CENTURY OF JUNG PUMPS

PIONEERING SPIRIT AND EXCELLENCE IN WASTEWATER TECHNOLOGY

THE FOUNDING YEARS AND YEARS OF RECONSTRUCTION (1924 – 1959)

Jung Pumpen GmbH has a fascinating history that now spans over a century and is characterized by innovation, growth and adaptation to changing market conditions.

Since it was founded in 1924, the company has developed from a small craft business in Steinhagen into a leading international provider of wastewater technology for house and property drainage.

The company’s beginnings are closely linked to the name Heinrich Christian Jung , who founded the company in Steinhagen in 1924.

Characterized by the development of simple but efficient solutions for agriculture in the form of hand-operated manure pumps, which laid the foundation for later growth.

After the Second World War there was a strategic realignment towards industrial series production . This decision was ground breaking for further development.

In addition to the first A54 dirty water pumps, lifting systems were now also being built.

SPIRIT OF INNOVATION IN THE 60S TO 90S

In the 1960s, Jung Pumpen achieved a technical milestone with the introduction of the first submersible pump U33 and established itself as a specialist in domestic drainage and wastewater technology, thereby laying the foundation for later success in this area.

The success with dirty water pumps and later also with wastewater pumps continued, especially with the well-known U3 K basement drainage pump .

The company subsequently expanded its product range to include polyester pools, filter systems and pumps for swimming pool technology, but had to discontinue this area due to rising heating costs as a result of the oil crises in the 1970s.

For this reason, Jung Pumpen earned an excellent reputation in the irrigation sector in the early 1970s . The “Juga 75” garden pump became a hit and is still in use in many gardens and green spaces today. Known for their exceptional longevity.

The 80s brought the introduction of pressure drainage , a technology that uses house pumping stations to dispose of wastewater via pressure pipe networks. One of the first projects was the comprehensive wastewater disposal on the Baltic Sea island of Darß.

Today, Jung Pumpen is one of the market leaders for pressure drainage in Germany and is present in major projects worldwide, particularly in the UK thanks to Pump Technical Services Ltd-Jung Pumpen.

In the 90s, our own plastics factory was built , where our own pump shafts and containers have been produced ever since.

Jung Pumpen began building a nationwide network in Germany at the end of the 1960s , which was characterized by regional sales representatives. These were dedicated to providing intensive support to installers, planners, municipalities and wholesalers.

At the same time, the company set up a specialized customer service that was equipped with fully equipped service vehicles in order to be able to efficiently carry out necessary maintenance and repair work directly at the end customer.

These developments underline Jung Pumpen’s commitment to customer proximity and service quality to this day.

Since 1985, Pump Technical Services Ltd-Jung Pumpen became the first and only sole supplier of Jung Pumpen products to customers across the UK and this remains the case to this very day. As well as selling and supplying Jung pumps to our clients, our expert engineers can maintain, service and repair them. Pump Technical Services Ltd-Jung Pumpen is THE authorised stockist and distributor for the UK with nearly 40 years of experience as valued business partners.
